"They said she fell — but the injuries told a different story."

Cumming, Georgia | November 4, 2018

Tamla Horsford was supposed to be enjoying a fun night with friends — an adult slumber party with food, drinks, games, and laughs. But by morning, she was dead.

Found face down in the backyard of the home, police ruled her death an accident — a fall from the second-story balcony. But almost immediately, that explanation didn’t sit right with her family... or the public.

The Red Flags Are Impossible to Ignore

  • Tamla’s injuries weren’t consistent with a simple fall. She had a dislocated wrist, deep cuts to her face, abrasions all over her body, and trauma to her neck and torso.

  • The scene had already been disturbed by the time investigators arrived.

  • The homeowner’s boyfriend — a former probation officer — accessed the scene, made phone calls, and even deleted messages before authorities took control.

  • The women at the party gave conflicting stories about what happened the night before.

  • Tamla’s family was not allowed to see her body before the autopsy.

  • The toxicology report showed alcohol and THC in her system — but many questioned whether that was enough to cause such a severe accident.

A Mother, A Wife, A Friend — Gone Too Soon

Tamla was a beloved mom of five. She was known for her warmth, her energy, and her laughter. She wasn’t a reckless person. She was surrounded by people she trusted… or so she thought.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office ruled her death an accident. But after public outcry, petitions, and national attention, the case was reopened in 2020. Still, it was later closed again — with no new findings, no arrests, and no justice.

“Can you cover Tamla Horsford?”

That was the message we got from one of you — and we heard you.

Tamla's name deserves to be remembered. Her story is not just a tragedy — it’s a warning about how easily justice can slip through the cracks when bias and privilege are involved.

What Do YOU Think Happened?

Did someone at that party know more than they told police?
Was this an accident… or was it murder?
Why were the early investigation steps so sloppy?

Drop your thoughts in the comments. Let’s talk theories, justice, and what should happen next. Because the conversation isn’t over — and Tamla’s story deserves more than silence.
